#FamilyLife: How We Socially Distanced Vacation

Socially distanced vacation? While there’s a whole pandemic happening outside? Please believe that I’m aware! I understand that taking a social distance vacation during such hectic times is a privilege. If you have the privilege to vacation at this time, and want to do so safely; this article is about that!

Elk Springs Resort

Hubby and I aren’t new to the Elk Springs Resort brand. We had the pleasure of having our Baby moon/anniversary trip at one of their cabins back in 2016.

We had such a fantastic time back then even with me being 8 months pregnant! When the pandemic came and wiped out our travel plans in 2020, we revamped our plans and headed back to this cabin. The cabins are located in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge/Sevierville Tennessee in the Smoky mountains.

Most cabin locations are somewhere in the vicinity of tourist attractions such as Dollywood, Ripley’s Aquarium, Rocky Top Mountain Coaster, Big Top Arcade and more. I know that there are some who are willing to head to these public spaces; but my family and I did not for our own safety!

Back Again January 2021

We had such a great time last summer that we decided to revisit during the kid’s winter break; except this time we opted for a bigger cabin. This time we booked the Swimming in Paradise Cabin. It was a 3 bedroom, 4 bath cabin with kitchen, living room, dining room, game room, theater room, pool, hot tub, and can sleep up to 10 people.

There was a lot more space for my family and I this time which was welcomed. We grocery shopped at a local grocery store to stock up for our 4 day stay. We brought board games along so that we could have bonding opportunities with the kids, and we made sure to take advantage of ALL the amenities offered.

How to Book

Booking is very simple! You simply go to www.elkspringsresort.com. You can filter your cabin search by cabin name, bedrooms, or cabin types. I always select search by pool cabins because I know that my family and I love to swim.

Pricing varies depending on the size of the cabin, amenities and length of stay. You have the option of paying up front or putting a deposit down and making monthly installment payments.

The Wrap-Up

It’s been tough trying to keep the normalcy for our family during this pandemic. The kids are out their norm and that’s what bothers me more than anything. Being able to create good memories during these times has been a blessing and I’m beyond grateful for it.

I am wishing the same for you and your families as well.

Until Next Time,
